Not a lot of time today for weblogging, so I thought I'd share another bookmark that's lasted for a couple of years now under my Favorites. Paul McFedries maintains a site called Word Spy, where he tracks newly coined words and older words that have been repurposed. I visit the site every once in a while, and always enjoy what I find.
Among the 10 most recently posted words was this entry for stylometrician. Algorithms such as the one that underlies the Gender Genie are the work of stylometrics, the statistical analysis of prose.
See, this entry wasn't *completely* random after all...
