Here's a little giggler from the folks at Kairosnews. A person at Indiana has posted a manifesto called, "Why I Fucking Hate Weblogs." I suspect that our friends at the Gender Genie would peg it as male, for the frequency of the word 'fuck' if nothing else, but there's no indication, and bones has disabled hir homepage for the time being.
Not that it really matters. I got a chuckle out of it, mostly bc much of it is right. The following captures the tone without most of the swearing:
As we can see, clearly weblogs are fucking retarded as a general rule. Most weblog authors either think they have something important to say (self-centered and egotistical authors), or believe that they have an audience that cares what they think (delusional and irrational authors.) What can be plainly seen is that most weblog authors need something to push them back into the real world from the self-centered and delusional world they have created for themselves.
By the end, bones proposes that we/bloggers issue monthly "Statements of Audience" admitting to our "rambling, incoherent dumbfuckery" and that we have nothing of value to offer to anyone.
By my count, I qualify for at least 5 or 6 of the categories of bloggers that bones identifies. Including the "Crossover Poster," who "isn't satisfied with just talking about THEIR stupid moronic opinions, they have to crosspost with someone ELSE's stupid moronic opinions, link to THEIR weblog and then create a weblog entry that regurgitates the other person's post."
I got a kick out of it, anyway. If I were more interested in blogging-as-vocation and less interested in simply writing on a day-to-day basis, I suppose I might muster up some offense at it. Ah well. That's why I could never be a hardcore atheist, either.

My weblog is down and people can't read my very important opinions and thoughts. When will the server return? When? Until then, let me just say that I've been creating something I'm calling "Self Blogging in Real Time." This largely consists of me talking aloud to myself about those things that I notice, hate, or love.
It's just not the same.
